i love the raw vision behind Lisbon’s new Museum of Design and Fashion. Ricardo Carvalho and Joana Vilhena have transformed the ruins of a historic bank interior into a handsomely stripped down backdrop, offering the perfect contrast to the highly feminized form, color, and texture on display.

i have to confess, though: i love the purple dress above even more than its inspired surrounds. if anyone happens to know the designer responsible for this number, please fill me in (see the actual cover of september’s Architectural Record for a better shot).
