days with my father

a co-worker sent out a link to this online diary sometime ago, and it had slipped my mind until I spotted it on this blog just now. photographer Phillip Toledano chronicles, in achingly beautiful photographs and words, the final days of his father’s struggle against age and alziemer’s. it’s an emotionally brave endeavor that leaves us with a shatteringly accessible account of loss and love. i viewed the entire diary from my desk, and then had to escape to the ladies room to compose myself. it took a few minutes.
